rest

His Presence

doesn’t discriminate

against my humanity

My body tires

My mind tires

I look to the end

of the day

When I can rest

When I can sleep

He welcomes me

I have appointment

with Him

To be together

Everything I’m supposed to be

set aside, traded in,

for warmth

comfort

and deep rest

I am called

to rest

Rest.
